Who we are:

Friends of Connemara

The Friends of Connemara
is a group of American academic, business and community leaders who have formed an alliance to raise the proper capital funding to make the planned transformation of Tully Cross a reality.  We are leading the U.S. capital campaign to remodel and refurbish the Student Cottages as well as rebuild the Lecture + Educational Centre. We are an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and a Michigan Non-profit Corporation EIN Number: 82-2193569

Connemara West PLC

Connemara West PLC is a community owned and managed rural development company based in the Renvyle, Letterfrack, Kylemore and Moyard area of North West Connemara. It was established in 1971 to promote the social, economic and cultural viability of that area.

The organization is leading the effort to renovate and improve the cottages and to build the Education Centre that American college and university students use as part of their study abroad programs.

Tully Cross

Tully Cross is a quaint village in the mountainous region of Connemara in County Galway. The Renvyle Thatched Cottages consists of nine traditional Irish cottages. The vision for these properties is to combine the traditional design of the authentic Irish thatched cottage with home comforts like a modern kitchen and central heating throughout.

One style of cottage will sleep five and the other will sleep seven. Bed linens, towels, tea towels and all necessary household equipment are provided. The area has a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants.

It’s a perfect way to learn about Ireland, its culture and its future.
